Our Story
Metal Crafters Inc. Joe Thorn started Metal Crafters Inc. in his garage in 1992. He began acquiring used, broken machinery to repair and start his business with. In ’93 he started renting a location and gradually grew into that space until 2000 when he outgrew it and built
a 7000 sq/ft addon. That was the year he started working on antique engines.
Metal Crafters bought their first laser table in 2016 among capitalizing on other growth opportunities.
Joe Thorn, his son Matt Thorn, Tanya Thorn, and long-term foreman and leader, Jason Herman were instrumental in making Metal Crafters what it is today. Matt, Tanya, and Jason bought the company in 2021.
Joe is “mostly” retired now and continues to work on his passion, Model T and Model A cars at his old shop.
